- Where do you source your seafood from?
- Our seafood primarily comes from the coastal and deep sea waters along both the Atlantic and Pacific Coasts of our Country.
- Is your seafood fresh or frozen?
- Most of the Seafood available from M&S Seafood Market is fresh. Some species like King Crab and Shrimp are frozen.
- How many servings are in a pound of fish?
- Typical entrée portions are 5-8 ounces so 2-3 people can enjoy a pound of most fish.
- What wines pair well with fish?
- We think the best answer is to drink what you like! Though white wines do tend to pair better with seafood, reds can be enjoyed as well. Pinot Noir and Salmon are particularly well matched.
- Are the fish wild or farmed? What are the differences?
- Tilapia, Trout and some Salmon are farm-raised, as are most shellfish. We offer a wide variety of wild seafood as well.
- How long can I wait before I cook my fish?
- Our seafood is as fresh as it can be and is shipped to you overnight. We recommend that, as we do in our restaurants, you prepare and serve your seafood within 36 hours of arrival.
- Will the fish have any bones?
- Unless otherwise specifically stated, all our fish is fully boned before we send it to you.
- How will I know my fish is fully cooked?
- Some fin fish can be enjoyed rare to medium rare. Most, however require being fully cooked through. Fully cooked fish is slightly pink in the center, still moist and it begins to flake when probed with a fork.
- A typical filet of fish, about 1 inch thick, will require 8-10 minutes of grilling, baking or pan frying.
